With so many choices out there, it’s almost impossible to narrow down the best-of-the best wireless headphones one could ever get. You could have an unlimited budget and still find yourself contemplating endless options. We frequently update this list so that you can stay on top of newer models from old brands or new drops worth checking out. These are our current favorites this year.
Best Wireless Headphones 2021
Sony’s best-selling noise-canceling headphones are now in their fourth generation, and we love them. The WH-1000XM4 features an ergonomic design that offers 30 hours of battery life and some of the best sound quality in the game. Their noise-canceling technology tops nearly all competitors. The coolest part? They can even sense when you talk to people and pause the music for you—no more pressing the pause button. Sony has also improved the one thing the previous model lacked: Call quality.
The 1More ColorBuds are some of the most comfortable headphones you can get. They feature three sizes of silicone ear tips and tiny ear fins to help them sit comfortably in your ear. As an added bonus, The ColorBuds are IPX5 water-resistant, and they sound fantastic. In addition, they’re AptX-enabled and pack a nice bass for headphones this size. Comfort, quality sound, and six hours of battery life make them the best wire-free earbuds out right now.
There’s a headphone (or earphones) for every lifestyle. While AirPods are designed to use primarily with iPhones, they’re not all that attractive when it comes to sweatproof performance or battery life. Our favorite pair of workout headphones last year and this year are the Beats Powerbeats. They work great with iPhones & Androids. The ear clip-style buds are made to stay fastened during the most intensive workouts. In addition, the cable connecting each bud offers a whopping 15 hours of total battery life compared to the Powerbeats Pro’s 9 hours.
Bose Noise Canceling 700
Equipped with a unique digital signal processing (DSP) and an advanced microphone array, Bose’s latest flagship headphones can limit background noise and focus on your voice, making them the best headphones you can get when it comes to calling quality. All of that, plus superior comfort, extended battery life, and excellent sound quality, make the Bose 700 a top pick if you’re always hopping on a call or zoom.
Apple AirPods Max
Yes, they’re some of the most expensive headphones out there, but Apple’s AirPods Max makes up for it by offering the best sound. They have deep bass, a huge soundstage, and outstanding noise cancelation.
They integrate well with iOS devices, and primarily how well they handle video streams. For example, when streaming on certain apps (Disney+, for example), they can track your head movements to simulate object-based surround sound.
Master & Dynamic MW07 Go
Master & Dynamic’s MW07 Go is lightweight, comfortable, and they offer fantastic sound. If you’re not a fan of Apple’s Powerbeats, these also make great go-to gym buds. In addition, they have a pulsing soundstage and offer much more musical detail than most wire-free brands. Moreover, they have 10-hour battery life and an IPX6 rating, so feel free to rinse them off after your daily sweat-check.
Apple AirPods Pro
The AirPods Pro are worth the added cost you’ll pay over first-generation AirPods. Thanks to silicone ear tips that replace the standard AirPods’ hard plastic, they’re so much more comfortable and secure. They also sound much better. The ear tips offer a better seal within your ears for more powerful bass response. The active noise canceling is fantastic too. As a result, you’ll rarely hear your coworkers chit-chatting in the next room when you’re trying to get some work done.
With an IPX4 rating, you can confidently use them at the gym. The downside to this model is the shortened battery life, which stands at 4.5 hours (outside of the added 19.5 hours you get from the charged case). The best part? The case is designed to charge wirelessly, so no worries there.
Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro
The Galaxy Buds Pro are the most advanced in a long line of distinguished Samsung-made earbuds, and they’re one of our new favorite noise-canceling models to date. The Galaxy Buds Pro feature better battery life, a wireless charging case, and outstanding microphone quality.
What truly stands out about these earbuds is the excellent sound they produce. The Galaxy Buds Pro have an extraordinary dual-driver array, allowing them to offer some of the most precise, cleanest bass ever. If you’re big on sound quality as much as us, you really can’t go wrong with the Galaxy Buds Pro.
Whatever your reason might be for upgrading your old pair of headphones, we hope this guide helps you find the best wireless headphones for you. As you can tell, there are plenty of models to choose from. Happy hunting!
